Puerto Pollenca is on the East coast of Mallorca at the northern end. It's approximately 45 minutes drive from Palma and the airport. Originally a small flourishing fishing village, it still retains the charms of yesteryear. The appeal of Puerto Pollensa is in its refusal to succumb to the more garish aspects of places like Palma Nova and Magalluf, more associated with the characteristics of Benidorm on the mainland. In contrast to those, Pollensa is a tranquil, historic, unspoilt port, with its stunning mountain scenery providing a backdrop to the long sandy beaches.
Puerto de Pollenca offers a myriad of small cafes, bars and restaurants, all offering local specialities. There's a weekly market in the town and a large SYP supermarket on the approach into the town.
Inland from the port is the old town of Pollenca which is a favourite artistic haunt. The 365 steps of Calvario will not only provide you with plenty of exercise, but your exertions will be amply rewarded by the breath taking views of pretty mountains and villages with the magnificent Bay of Pollensa beyond.
Approximately 45 minutes drive from Palma and the airport. Alcudia is
strategically situated at the neck of the peninsula separating the
beautiful Bays of Alcudia and Pollensa in the northern part of the island.
The area is famed for its stunning mountain scenery, sandy beaches and
coves, and golf courses.
Originally a Phoenician settlement the town was built inland from its port
(today Puerto Alcudia) as a defence against pirates and invaders. In the
2nd century AD it became "Pollentia" the Roman capital of Balearis Major.
It was sacked by the Vandals in the 5th century, rebuilt by the Moors and
with the conquest of Mallorca by Juame 1, in 1229, once again came under
Christian rule. Construction of the city walls, to protect not only the
village, but also the entire northern section of the island, was begun in
1298 and completed in 1362.
Today Alcudia's monuments and buildings have been carefully restored and
the Old Town is a delightful mixture of old and new. Tapas bars, cafes and
restaurants abound with tables spilling out onto the tiny paved streets.
The pretty market place (famed throughout the island for it's Sunday &
Tuesday markets) is a great point from which to explore and sample the
present day (and night) delights of this lovely old town.
Puerto Alcudia lies at the northern end of the Bay of Alcudia's 11km sweep
of curving white sand beach. This lovely old fishing village has
restaurants, cafes, bars and shops lining the sea front and the tiny paved
streets behind. "Shop till you drop" or meander around the marina, full of
fishing boats and…luxury yachts!
Alcudia and Pollensa have long been renowned for their popularity as family
resorts - there really is something for everyone. Local activities abound
- water sports, sailing, diving, golfing, horse riding, cultural sites -
even sunbathing and relaxing! Nightlife centres around the local bars,
cafes and restaurants in both Alcudia town and the Port area and features
some fine restaurants, offering seafood, international or Mallorcan
cuisine. However, if you fancy something a little livelier - look no
further than the 7-mile sweeping Bay of Alcudia resort area.
Should you decide to wander further afield Puerto Pollensa, Pollensa Old
Town, Cala San Vincente and Formentor are just a few of the places all
within easy reach of the Alcudia area. Whether you want relaxation,
culture or activity - you'll find it here!

There is very little sand at all on Tenerife: it is a volcanic island
and is mostly volcanic ash or cinders along the coastal path with outcrops of rocks or pebbles going down to the sea (for instance Pebble Beach . . . ). Having said that many people sunbathe on the rocks and children often play on the pebbles though sandy it is not -- sand has to be imported from the Sarah desert to make beaches on Tenerife!! Los Gigantes is one of those places . . . The Spanish economy is collapsing and properties are unsaleable because they are unlettable because owners of properties on Ternerife and Mallorca cannot let their properties without bureaucracy and expense having to be licensed to provide holiday accommodation. The imposition of bureaucracy and opressive taxation kills free enterprise and the economy.
Currently long-term unavailable.

As webmasters we are not acting as agents but are publishing what our clients have asked us to market for them.
